Personal data processing policy. Version of 8 October 2026

This is an English translation provided for convenience. The Russian version is the legally binding one.

1. General provisions

This Policy sets out the procedure for the processing and protection of personal data by the Interregional Public Organisation for Personal Development “Community of Thought Inquirers” (SIM), OGRN 1187700017999, INN 9718117450, KPP 771801001 (hereinafter, the Operator).

The Policy has been developed in accordance with Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data” of 27.07.2006 and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation.

The Policy applies to personal data obtained through the SIM website, feedback forms, enquiries, applications, applications for membership of the organisation and other channels of communication indicated on the website.

2. Personal data

The Operator may process:

  • surname, first name and patronymic;

  • contact details in messaging apps (VK, Telegram, MAX);

  • city of residence;

  • information contained in enquiries, requests, applications, questionnaires and other messages;

  • technical data, including IP address, information about the browser, device and operating system, the date and time of access, cookies and similar technologies.

The Operator does not deliberately collect special categories of personal data unless their processing is required by law or there is a legal basis for it.

Please do not include in forms and enquiries any information that is not required to address the matter concerned.

3. Purposes of processing

Personal data are processed for the purposes of:

  • considering enquiries, requests and questions;

  • contacting users in response to their requests;

  • registering for events and participating in the activities of SIM;

  • considering applications for membership of the organisation and keeping records of members and programme participants;

  • maintaining organisational and record-keeping documentation;

  • informing about the events and activities of SIM, where the necessary consent has been given;

  • ensuring the operation and security of the website;

  • fulfilling obligations provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

4. Legal grounds

Personal data are processed:

  • with the consent of the personal data subject;

  • where processing is necessary for the performance of the Operator’s obligations and the exercise of its rights provided for by law and by the Charter of SIM;

  • to consider enquiries, applications and requests;

  • on other grounds provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

5. Processing and transfer of data

Personal data may be processed with or without the use of automated means and include collection, recording, systematisation, storage, clarification, use, transfer, depersonalisation, blocking, deletion and destruction of data.

When collecting personal data of citizens of the Russian Federation, the Operator ensures the use of databases located in the territory of the Russian Federation in the cases provided for by law.

The Operator does not transfer personal data to third parties, except in cases provided for by law, where necessary to fulfil a request of the personal data subject, where provided for by the subject’s consent, or in connection with ensuring the operation of the website and other services used, where there are appropriate legal grounds.

6. Retention period

Personal data are stored for no longer than is necessary for the purposes of their processing, unless a different period is established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Once the purposes of processing have been achieved, or upon the occurrence of other lawful grounds, personal data are destroyed or depersonalised in accordance with the established procedure.

7. Protection of personal data

The Operator takes the necessary legal, organisational and technical measures to protect personal data against unlawful or accidental access, alteration, destruction, blocking, copying, provision, dissemination and other unlawful actions.

8. Rights of the personal data subject

The personal data subject has the right to:

  • receive information about the processing of their personal data;

  • demand that their data be clarified, blocked or destroyed in the cases provided for by law;

  • withdraw consent to the processing of personal data where the processing is based on consent;

  • exercise other rights provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

9. Photographs and video recordings

Photographs and video recordings of events and other activities of the organisation may be published on the website and in the official communities of SIM.

Images are published in compliance with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and with the consents obtained, where such consent is required.

If you believe that the publication of an image affects your rights, please send an enquiry to moosimrf@mail.ru. The Operator will consider the enquiry and, where there are lawful grounds, will take the necessary measures.

10. Changes to the Policy

The Operator may amend this Policy. A new version takes effect from the moment it is published on the website, unless otherwise provided for by the version itself.

The current version of the Policy is permanently available on the SIM website.
